Connect Your Accounting System

Last updated: Last reviewed: 5 min read

Use this overview to choose the right connection path. IRIS uses PRAL in the licensed-integrator field, while you choose the accounting source inside TaxConnect.

Pick a pathStart with Connect Xero, Connect QuickBooks Online, or Excel Import. Do not enter Xero, QuickBooks, or Excel into IRIS.

Overview

TaxConnect supports three Learn paths for accounting data: Xero, QuickBooks Online, and Excel/CSV import. The accounting source is selected inside TaxConnect after you sign in.

Which accounting software should I choose?

Choose the path that matches the system your business already uses.

Important notes about connections

One primary source per organisation

Pick the guide that matches the accounting data source you want to connect. If you maintain more than one source, connect the one you plan to use for day-to-day invoicing first.

IRIS vs TaxConnect

In IRIS, the licensed-integrator field should be PRAL. In TaxConnect, you choose the accounting source separately. That means Xero, QuickBooks Online, and Excel/CSV are selected in TaxConnect — not entered into IRIS.

Excel/CSV does not use OAuth

The Excel Import path is for file-based uploads and offline workflows. It does not create a connection to Xero or QuickBooks, and it does not require an external provider sign-in.
